Harbusol has experienced some positive changes recently, with the introduction of several new staff nationally, and the creation of new departments throughout the business as it continues to grow from strength to strength.

In order to accommodate our new team members, and better cater for our growing business, the Head office in Melbourne has undergone some impressive renovations, with the addition of a comprehensive Board Room, extra office space and a modern, open plan staff room.

Kmart's Horsham store gets a make over

Kmart Horsham endured an impressive 8 week make over, with the de fit and demolition of parts of the old store, and the complete refurbishment of the rejuvenated Kmart Horsham.

Harbuosl Project Manager, Patrick Dromgool and his team did a phenomenal job to complete the vast scope of works in such a short period of time. Site Mangers; Scott Bond and Sean Timms, coordinated their 50 plus team of tradesmen over a 24 hour, seven day per week roster to complete the scheduled works quickly, whilst minimizing the disruption to customers, as the store kept trading during renovations.

Harris Scarfe Opens at Springvale

HS Home, Springvale, opened Monday 24th of October, located in the Harvey Norman Center next to IKEA which is now the Southern Hemisphere’s largest Homemaker Outlet. Harbusol Project assistant, Max Sprindinov and his team of 30 completed the 1000sqm2 + fit out, with a myriad of trades working together. It was Max’s first assignment as a Project assistant and he coordinated and delivered a brilliant finished product. New ceiling louvers were custom made and trialed in the fit out, proving to be a successful challenge making a positive impact on the look and feel of the store.

Maintenance Report Nov 2011

Maintenance jobs during September and October were constant, with all of our staff and contractors being kept busy across Australian and New Zealand.

The introduction and implementation of scheduled maintenance visits throughout a number of sites has proven to be extremely effective and efficient, by reducing the costs on casual service calls for odd jobs and maintaining focus on continually lifting the standard of the sites on a regular basis proves to be a very successful model.

Kmart Christmas Wishing Tree Appeal

Every year during the pre-Christmas period, Kmart assembles Christmas trees in all of their stores to collect generous donations from; shoppers and the general public.

The Salvation Army distributes the Christmas gifts to the under privileged at Christmas time. This year on November 14, Harbusol will put up their own Christmas tree and collect donations and gifts from; staff, neighboring businesses and customers.

Retail rises 0.6% in Aug 2011

The latest Australian Bureau of Statistics Retail Trade figures show that Australian retail turnover rose 0.6% in August 2011.

Turnover rose in Household goods retailing (1.7%), Food retailing (0.6%), Cafes, restaurants and takeaway food services (1.2%) and other retail (0.3%). Turnover fell in Department stores (-0.8%) and Clothing, footwear and personal accessory retailing (-0.3%).

Happy Birthday to Peter Barker of sunny Queensland, who celebrates his birthday on the 3rd November.

Harbusol’s Special Projects Manager, Terry Scanlan has a birthday on the 11th of November and the last staff birthday on the calendar belongs to OEH&S Guru, Russell Bozkewycz, who will celebrate his birthday on November 18.

To everyone else who celebrates their birthday during the month of November, the Harbusol Team would like to wish you a happy birthday; we hope you enjoyed your special day.

The past three months has seen further significant developments at Harbusol.  This has been a period of consolidation of our Western Australia office led by Alec Gallier.  Alec has been working extremely hard servicing our existing clients and building new relationships.

Christian Seymour - State Manager Queensland
Christian has over 20 years experience in the construction industry, specialising in finishes and coatings. He worked as a project manager on the asbestos removal program throughout the South East Queensland schools program and the heritage listed building refurbishments for Queensland University of Technology. More recently, Christian has worked as a project manager on retail fit outs. A keen AFL supporter he brings a wealth of experience to the Harbusol Team.
